Henri Cartier-Bresson. Watch!, Watch!, Watch!
Henri Cartier-Bresson (1908-2004)
is one of the most famous photographers of the 20th century. His ability to capture
the "decisive moment"—a spontaneous and significant instant—established him
as a leading exponent of street photography. As a photojournalist, artist
and portraitist, he created timeless compositions that left a profound imprint on
the style of later generations of photographers.
The exhibition, in collaboration
with the Bucerius Kunstforum in Hamburg, offers an in-depth look at his work,
showcasing 240 original prints, including his early photographs, surrealist
works, political reports, portraits of artists and writers, and his images of
everyday life, spanning his career between 1930 and 1970.
